An American in Texas

In late 1990, as the first Gulf War looms in the background, a group of punk-rock kids in small-town Texas look to their band, Surgeon General’s Warning, as a way out. Based on a true story, the film follows lifelong friends on the edge of adulthood as they face a choice between the empty promises of corporate career paths and a harder, narrower pursuit of individual freedom.
