Angela's Ashes

After a child’s death in America, an Irish Catholic family returns to Limerick in the 1930s, hoping to rebuild amid difficult times. Their father, an unemployed former I.R.A. veteran, struggles to provide as poverty, prejudice and alcoholism weigh heavily on the household. In harsh slum conditions, the family faces the daily strain of survival and the fragile bonds that hold them together.
