Maja, a Danish actress whose career has faded, begins a romance with Leah, a young Jewish academic from London. When Leah suffers a mysterious seizure, Maja accompanies her back to London and is drawn into the uneasy world of Leah’s family life. There, she meets Chana, Leah’s overbearing mother, whose presence suggests hidden darkness beneath the surface.
