Thomas Stevens, a multimillionaire, is assessing a pastry chef as a candidate for his $100,000 grant when the process becomes unexpectedly personal. He believes she is connected to the loss of his mother’s bakery, making every meeting complicated by suspicion and unresolved family hurt.
