Beautiful City

In Islamic Iran, 18-year-old Akbar is moved from a rehabilitation center to prison, where he awaits execution for a murder committed when he was sixteen. As the legal process closes in, his friend A’la desperately seeks the plaintiff’s consent to halt the sentence. The case draws them into questions of vengeance, blood money, and the value placed on a woman’s life compared with a man’s.
