In 1963, an illegal immigrant from Mainland China slips into Hong Kong under British colonial rule, a city marked by corruption and opportunity. Starting with nothing and living outside the law from the moment he arrives, he begins to build power in the criminal underworld, steadily transforming himself into a ruthless emerging drug lord.
