A boy’s favorite comic book opens onto three macabre stories of terror. In one tale, a wooden Native American figure becomes an instrument of vengeance. In another, a monstrous blob waits in a lake. In the last, an undying hitchhiker refuses to stay behind. Together, the stories turn a new issue of the comic into a grim collection of nightmares.
