At a traveling circus, the leader of the sideshow performers becomes engaged to a beautiful trapeze artist. To his close-knit group of fellow performers, the match soon looks less like romance than a scheme: they discover she wants the marriage only for his inheritance. As her true motives become clear, his friends close ranks and set out to protect one of their own.
