During an impromptu fashion shoot in a Greenwich Village book store, a shy shop clerk unexpectedly catches the eye of a fashion photographer. Seen as a fresh discovery for the fashion world, she is swept away from her quiet life among books and taken to Paris, where she is asked to step into a new role as a model, despite her reluctance and uncertainty.
