Gladiator

After Emperor Marcus Aurelius dies, his devious son seizes power and turns against Maximus, one of Rome’s most capable generals and the man Marcus had favored. Stripped of his rank, torn from his family and sold into slavery, Maximus is forced into the brutal life of a gladiator, fighting to the death for paying crowds while seeking vengeance against the corrupt emperor who destroyed his life.
