An imaginative, strong-willed teenage girl feels awkward and isolated in her everyday life. Drawn to the promise of escape, she runs away from home with an older punk rock drifter, and their road trip becomes a passage through the beautiful, difficult terrain of young love, where fantasy, freedom, and emotional uncertainty begin to blur.
