In Sussex, England, in 1938, ingenious sisters Thomasina and Martha Hanbury create LOLA, a remarkable machine that can intercept radio and television broadcasts from the future. As the world moves toward the outbreak of World War II, the sisters begin using what they hear and see, unaware that sharing these future broadcasts could bring devastating consequences for history and for their own lives.
