Prodigy volcanologist Antoinette Vitrini sees her theory confirmed when an offshore drilling rig erupts in flames, revealing a long-dormant volcano beneath Miami. With her sister Emily, she tries to expose an illegal oil drilling scheme before it triggers a super-volcanic eruption and sends catastrophic magma surging under the city.
