Nine-year-old Eli Braverman is convinced that something menacing lives in the basement of his home, a monster he believes is trying to steal his soul. When his older sister leaves him home alone one night, Eli is forced to face the fear he has been carrying and find out whether the evil below is only in his head or something far more terrifying.
