After his mother dies in a Hollywood stage accident, teenage Jeff Matthews moves with his father to her hometown, hoping for a fresh start. There, he meets Drew Gilbert, a boy struggling with an abusive stepfather, and the two are drawn toward an ancient Native American burial ground with a terrifying power: it can bring the dead back to life.
