After his death, Nick Walker, a former Boston Police Department detective, is recruited into the Rest in Peace Department, a force made up of deceased police officers. Assigned to battle renegade ghosts in the afterlife, Nick also searches for the man who murdered him, balancing his new duties with the unresolved crime that brought him there.
