Recently released from a mental hospital, a timid young woman takes a job as secretary to a demanding lawyer. As she tries to settle into the strict routines of the office, their employer-employee relationship grows increasingly personal and sexual, drawing her into a sadomasochistic dynamic that offers an unexpected way to cope with her self-harming urges.
