Sling Blade

Karl Childers, an intellectually disabled man, has spent most of his life in a state mental hospital after killing his mother and her lover when he was 12 years old. Thoroughly shaped by years of institutional life, Karl is judged fit for release and sent into the outside world, where he must try to begin again and make a place for himself in a small town.
