Smilla's Sense of Snow
In snowy Copenhagen, six-year-old Inuit boy dies after falling from the roof of his apartment building. Smilla Jaspersen, a half-Inuit neighbor who knew him, cannot accept the official explanation. The boy was afraid of heights, and that detail leads her to suspect something more than an accident. As she follows the clues, Smilla is drawn toward a secretive corporation and its mysterious expeditions to Greenland.
