Malian artist Abdou Ouologuem investigates the life and legacy of Mansa Musa, the ambitious young royal who rose to the throne of 14th-century Mali, the richest kingdom in human history. As he searches for the truth behind the legendary African king, the film examines how the world’s wealthiest person has been left almost entirely out of recorded history.
