Over the course of one day in the Inland Empire, the lives of two best friends, a drug dealer, and a store manager begin to overlap in unexpected ways. As each follows a separate path through the same hectic day, their stories gradually come together around a hip-hop concert, where chance encounters and clashing agendas bring them all into the same orbit.
