The Dark Horse

Genesis Potini, a once-brilliant Maori speed-chess champion in New Zealand, lives with bipolar disorder and the weight of a difficult past. Searching for stability and purpose, he begins teaching chess to underprivileged children, using the game to share lessons about choices, discipline and hope while facing prejudice, violence and the struggle to protect his chess club, his family and himself.
