During a deadly plague in Lithuania, a tight-knit Jewish community comes under threat from a gang of ruffians led by a local landowner. A mystical woman turns to old folklore and conjures a creature meant to defend her people, but the force she brings into the world may be more dangerous than the invaders themselves.
