In mid-1800s Luxembourg, twelve-year-old Helene escapes an isolated patriarchal community after the Graff family kills her parents. Years later, she returns to her native village under a new identity, alone and in disguise. Driven by revenge, Helene sets out to confront and destroy the powerful family that shaped her past.
