Animal control officer Walter Sparrow comes across a novel that begins to consume his thoughts. As he reads, he becomes convinced the story was somehow written about him, with unsettling similarities between his own life and that of the book’s main character appearing more and more often. His growing obsession blurs the line between coincidence and connection.
