After living without sight, a man unexpectedly regains his vision and begins to see the world in a new way. But as his restored eyesight opens doors to appearances, status, and surface pleasures, he becomes increasingly consumed by what he can now see. His physical blindness fades, while a deeper, metaphorical blindness takes hold through his obsession with the superficial.
