The War Lord

In 11th-century Normandy, a duke sends one of his knights to a coastal village where an earlier effort to build a defensive castle has failed. Tasked with guarding the border against Frisian raiders, the knight works to establish a fortress and restore the duke’s authority in a hostile frontier. As he gains ground among the villagers and against the threats beyond, his growing love for a local woman complicates his mission.
