They Shoot Horses, Don't They?

In the midst of the Great Depression, manipulative emcee Rocky draws desperate contestants into a grueling dance marathon with a $1,500 cash prize. Among those competing are a failed actress, a middle-aged sailor, a delusional blonde and a pregnant girl, each pushed by hard times and the slim hope that endurance on the dance floor might change their lives.
