A widowed mortician struggling with agoraphobia gets an unusual birthday gag gift from her mother and daughter: a life-size male doll named Pedro. What begins as a family joke turns strange when the doll comes to life as her dead husband, disrupting her already fragile home life and complicating her growing connection with a documentary filmmaker.
