Fresh from Glasgow Veterinary College, James Herriot arrives in the Yorkshire Dales to pursue his dream of becoming a vet. At Skeldale House, he adjusts to life with his unpredictable boss Siegfried Farnon, Siegfried’s wayward brother Tristan, and the sharp-eyed Mrs Hall. As he learns, caring for animals often means winning over their hard-to-please owners, while local farmer’s daughter Helen Alderson catches his attention.
