Former Princeton music professor Arthur Cochran unexpectedly finds himself at choir practice in a small-town church and becomes the director of its rural choir. Used to the world of Ivy League music, Arthur now faces a group of singers who are out of tune in more ways than one, as he tries to bring order, discipline, and harmony to an unlikely ensemble.
